Sun Setting In Mexico

Finally back home I have reflected on what happened and the general experience I had in Mexico and all I can say is, "What a great first event!".
I shot scores of 71,74,74,71 and finished 2 over good for a tie for 49th. I set out this week with some goals and although I did not achieve the all the goals I had set overall it was a complete success. I set out to have fun, make the cut, win the tournament, not get a sun burn and enjoy Mexico. I did all but win the tournament, but i tried really hard opening my first nine the first day with a 5 under 31 before some back nine woes found myself carding a 71. I believe I belong out there and I cant wait to play again. I traveled with two of my good friends Kevin Tucker and Brady Bagio. We all stayed in an amazing condo that was donated by a resident who lives there over the winter. The beach was right out our back door and the golf course was right out our front door. After both my friends missed the cut I felt bad but they were very happy for me. Kevin came out to caddy for me the last two days which I really appreciated, we made a good team. I met a lot of good people, eat a lot of good food and played a great golf course. Cant wait for Vancouver when I tee it up again!

First Professional Event

I am currently down in beautiful and sunny Mazatlan, Mexico Playing in the Mexican PGA Championship. I have been here since Sunday and I have been having a great time and my practice rounds went really well. The first round was Thursday and I opened my first nine with a 5 under 31 but a bogey and an unfortunate triple on the back led me to a -1 under 71. Going in to today's round i was excited and ready to play well. I found myself 1 over on the first nine and heading into the next nine I was confident considering I had shot 31 on that side the previous day. I was playing ok but birdie putts were no finding the hole. I failed to get up and down on the 17th and made a good par on the final hole to make the cut on the number. It was a very exciting day and one of many firsts. Making my first cut is something i am very proud of and cant wait to make my way up the leaderboard on the weekend. Wish me luck and follow me on www.cantour.com
Tomorrow i tee off at 10:30 and it should be another great day!
